its been so hectic the last 4 weeks or so we havnt even had time to be on our blog!! We have been so busy with our granite worktops flying out the door. Some of mother natures finest. We have some stunning 30mm viscount white granite with waterfall legs up in Darras Hall, 6 jobs of our marble effect quartz worktops all over the north east of england including Ponteland, Medburn, Cramlington, Westerhope, Killingworth and Chapel house. Our Solid surface division has been busy with corian and staron jobs too.

Also we are still squaring away the showroom but we now have some stunning 12mm dekton trillium on displays and some of our 20mm marble effect quartz with quartz sink drainer grooves and waterfall edge to boot. All with a full height splashback it looks truly stunning, we will be having a grand opening very soon and our invites will be going out to all the local resisdents of Whickham, Swalwell, Dunston, Rowlands Gill, Team Valley and all the other surrounding areas.

We were talking with one of our trade customers last week to who have a place on team valley and he said customers have said umpteen times that there is no granite worktop suppliers on team Valley. We are literally 5 minutes drive from there. Our address is R.O Studio / R.O Surfaces, unit 2 , foudry park, market lane, swalwell, ne16 3ds.

We still have a bit of a battle to get the new showroom done which feels like its been going on forever but its looking truly stunning and we have some supper exciting stuff going on!!!!

Have you seen the new ultra thin Dekton surface for bathroom walls???? its 4mm thick, super large format tiles. When we say large format we mean large format as is 3000mm x 1200mm yes thats right 3 meters by 1.2 meters and are truly stunning. pop in and say hi and have a look at some samples

we have seen a huge surge in our granite worktops, more and more people seem to be going back to the natural stone, we have been working all over newcastle upon tyne and the north east the last couple of weeks. weve had some order for fusion granite, steel grey, galapagos quartzite and amarone, All absolutely stunning materials

Weve still been fabricating and insatling our quartz with ceaserstone, silestone and cambria and our cermaics and ultra compact surfaces with dekton, laminam and neolith.

The worktop business around the north east is very busy at the moment and will only get busier in the coming months with the xmas rush on!! Weve been installing all over the place weve been to Leeming Bar, Teeside, Yarm, Darlington, hexham, whickham, low fell, morpeth and longframlington in the last week alone so the vans have had a few extra miles on them this week.

We may be expanding our showrooms too within the next few months so we are getting all prepped up for that, pop along and see us in Swalwell to have a look at our huge range, just excuse the mess whilst the work is going on!!!!!

This year is flying by i cant believe its July already, and for as long as i can remember the hoppings fair at the town moor has been and it hasnt been raining cats and dogs!!! we are acutally getting a proper summer here in newcastle upon tyne!!

we have done some lovely jobs the last week, weve put this 50mm mitred island in which was our own carrara quartz, weve done a stunning Dekton and Neolith hybrid job where the worktop runs were in Neolith Aspen Grey and the Island was in Dekton Blanc concrete.

Weve also done a silestone gris expo in Gosforth and another quartz job in Whitley bay

Then on Thursday disaster!! we opened the front door and heard the dreaded sound of rushing water, got to the factory door and the whole place was flooded and lots of machines and tools damaged!! Nightmare, so we had to close the Swalwell (gateshead) factory on Thursday. Never mind though this stuff happens and we were back to the grind on Friday. we have a really busy few weeks ahead with 4 samsung Staron jobs and huge Hanex solid surface job with some Corian sinks in to go into chester le street, Ponteland, Hexham, Whickham and Sunderland, 3 Silestone jobs to go in Morpeth, Low Fell and Sunderland and some fabrication of our white/black and grey starlight quartz for some of our traders who use us for fabrication. I hope the rest of the year stays like this. Also the signs are up for the showroom and weve started building the island so hopefully within the next 2 weeks wel have all that boxed off

Veined quartz is still the biggest seller at the minute but which one should you choose??

There is a huge market out there from Silestone, Cambria, Compaq quartz and many more lesser know brands, All with different veining here we feature the Brittanicca warm quartz that we have installed in a showroom in Birtley county durham it looks stunning and the heavily veining patteren is softened down with the light grey colours, Cambrias veined decors are really like the marble they are trying to impersonate they feature smaller veins and stun marks like a real marble would have, it is truly stunning.

The factory has been super busy as usual as well weve been all over the north east the last few weeks granite jobs have went into north yorkshire, yarm and Northumberland

Silestone quartz and Cambria quartz have been installed in Low Fell, Whickham, Ponteland and Gosforth

Weve had Corian and Staron solid surface jobs going into Jesmond, Fenham, Forest Hall and Gosforth all with intergrated seamless sinks and one with coved upstands

Weve also picked up some new contracts as R.O Surfaces has been chosen as the granite, quartz , corian and dekton suppliers in the north east for 4 new showrooms in blaydon, chester le street, northumberland and Sunderland so we are super excited. We are also working on a Corian kitchen which will be stunning we are just making the proto type doors

Staron is fast becoming the most popular solid surface worktops of choice for our customers. Corian seems to have took a little step back and Staron has stormed into first place, we always see trends come and go and notice that when one of the big players like cosentino push Dekton or Silestone then we get a influx of customers asking for it, Same with Corian they advertise in publications such as home and garden then wel get quotes for Corian. So we are presuming Staron has done a lot of advertising some where or other!! A stunning Dekton job has been started this week too, up in northumberland cant wait to show you the full pictures.

weve also put a Staron job in Teeside and a Silestone job in Gosforth, and a Granite job up Heddon on the wall.

We also are having another little expansion and investing in some more machinery, exciting times, we have been asked to be the main granite, quartz (silestone) and solid surfac suppliers (Corian, Staron, Hanex, Hi macs) for another 3 showrooms in Newcastle, gateshead and Birtley. So we are very excited!!

If you need any worktops for your next project dont hesitate to contact us we cover the whole of the north east and are situatted 5 minutes from the metro centre and team valley, just down the hill from Whickham we are in Swalwell, pop in anytime for a chat or to see some samples
