IS QUARTZITE BETTER THAN QUARTZ?
quartzite has more heat resistance and stain resistance than quartz worktops and is much more durable, if sealed correctly then it's also non-porus.
Aesthetically Quartzite has many different faces with every slab unique, some vibrant and popping with greens, blues and reds, others with waves of stone with creams or greys.
IS QUARTZITE HARDER THAN QUARTZ?
Quartzite is 7-8 on the MOHS scale whereas quartz is 6-7 making quartzite the hardest, giving quartzite superb scratch resistance
DO YOU HAVE TO SEAL QUARTZITE?
Your fabricator will seal your quartzite worktops before installation and if a good quality sealer is used then you will not need to for another 15 years!!!! R.O Surfaces recommends dry treat, we are the only accredited applicator of dry treat in the North East of England.

WHEN IS QUARTZITE NOT A QUARTZITE?
Some suppliers will sell what is called dolomitic stone as a quartzite for instance Biancio Eclipse, this has parts that are softer than a true quartzite where the slab will be made up of the majority of quartz but there was some clay minerals present which will be more susceptible to scratching. Having said that Bianco Eclipse will still be one of the best-selling quartzites around.
Also unfortunately some companies will sell stones branded as quartzites that they themselves have no clue that its not or they will buy B grade and try and sell it as premium, so please shop with a specialist.

IS TAJ MAHAL THE BEST QUARTZITE?
this is a question we get asked again and again, whilst arguably the biggest selling quartzite it doesn't mean its the best, yes it is a true quartzite and taj mahal is amazingly beautiful and full of character but ultimately it is down to you what you like and how your kitchen looks
